Walter Gaman, MD, DABFM, FAAFP, FCFP
Dr. Gaman is Board Certified and a Fellow in Family Practice in both the United States and Canada. He is the co-author of
“Executive Medicine: Optimizing your chances for a longer life.” Dr. Gaman received his medical degree from the University of Manitoba and served as Head of the Department of Family Medicine in Winnipeg, where he practiced family medicine until relocating to Texas in 1987.
Dr. Gaman quickly earned a reputation in Irving as a leader in his field and was named Head of the Department of Family Medicine at Irving Healthcare System shortly after his relocation. Dr. Gaman is a member of the Canadian College of Family Physicians (President, Manitoba Chapter, 1981), the Dallas County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, Texas Academy of Family Physicians, The American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association, the Association of Clinical Research Professionals and the Group B Strep Association of America. Dr. Gaman was named one of America's Top Family Doctors for 2002-2003 by the Consumers Research Council of America. The Fort Worth Business Press has named him one of their Healthcare Heroes of 2005 and was honored on February 16, 2005.
Dr. Gaman decided to dedicate one of his offices strictly to executive and preventative medicine as a way to reach those patients who not only believe in taking care of their health, but have an appreciation and desire for more time with their physician.
