We all age, but some of us will age more gracefully than others. There are over 80,000 centenarians living in America today and that number is expected to grow exponentially. The choices you make today will determine your future health. Executive Medicine of Texas can help you manage the aging process so you can keep your bones strong, sex drive optimal, and your mental faculties sharp.
The Age Management Program consists of the following:
Our physician will listen to your heart and lungs, check your body for suspicious moles, observe your reflexes, and look into your eyes, ears, nose, and throat.
A complete panel of labs will be drawn to include approximately 90 lab values. These values will check your body chemistry, blood counts, thyroid function, advanced lipid panel, kidney function, liver function, and much more.
In addition to the labs listed above, gender appropriate hormone levels will be drawn to look for deficiency. Even low-normal ranges of hormones can affect weight, mental clarity, and bone strength.
In addition to the labs listed above, the micronutrient test will screen for 33 important nutrients necessary for normal body function.
Weak and brittle bones can lead to fractures. The DEXA scan measures the bone density and screens for osteoporosis and osteopenia.
VO2MAX STRESS TEST
This test looks at the gas exchange between the heart and lungs. The VO2MAX report provides additional information such as BMR (number of calories needed to maintain current weight), VDOT current and goal, Framingham Pre-test Vascular Age, METS, and a tailor made training program to reach goal VDOT.
Strokes can be prevented. This simple test looks for blockage or narrowing of the carotid arteries and identifies any increased risk for stroke.
How many meals you eat in a day and times you eat out per week can make an impact on your health. Bad food choices and using artificial sweeteners can cause you to age prematurely. A nutritional assessment will help the physician determine your health risks as they pertain to your diet.
If you have ever wondered how old you are on the inside, now we can tell you. Telomeres are the ends of your DNA strands. If these become shortened, premature aging and disease can start. Measuring telomeres is a way to objectively look at your overall age progression and track age management progress. This test is completed at the initial visit and six month follow up.
