It Takes More Than Just Your ‘Diet’

Looking for more? We understand how important it is to get this right. That’s why we offer 3×4 Genetic Testing to complement your nutritional journey and help you reach your goals.

Genetics and Chronic Health Issues

Here at Executive Medicine of Texas, we believe that knowing your genetic code is the key to personalized care.

Why? Because you can learn a lot from your DNA!

Our genes have an impact on our bodies starting at the cellular level, and can have an effect on the following processes:

Our genes also contribute to a well-functioning cardiovascular system in the following ways:

Genetic testing can also uncover what’s affecting your energy levels and weight. Specific genes can influence things like your appetite and how satiated, or full, you feel at the end of a meal.

Since genes influence aerobic training and oxygen usage, a genetic test can provide insights into your current fitness levels vs. your potential. It can also tell you whether your body is more conditioned for endurance exercises, like running or biking, or for power exercises, like sprinting or weight lifting.

Finally, your genes can tell you a lot about what types of nutrients are best for your body, and how well your body absorbs and metabolizes them. Your genes can affect how your body processes caffeine, iron, fatty acids, choline, folate, gluten, vitamin D, salt, vitamin C, and vitamin B12. Knowing this information will ultimately help you make better food choices.

Meet Our Functional Nutrition Counselor

A woman with brown hair, wearing a bright pink blouse and a necklace, stands smiling with one hand on her hip against a black background.

Randi True, PA-C, FNA-C

My name is Randi True, and I am a Physician Assistant who has practiced family medicine for the past 25 years. Over the past several years, I became disheartened and grew weary of treating symptoms with “band-aid” medicine.

The detective in me wanted to know why exactly these symptoms were occurring and how to make them stop at the source. This is why Functional Medicine and Nutrition is a passion for me.
